Fetty Wap has been sentenced to six years in federal prison after pleading guilty to a drug conspiracy charge, and will also has five years of supervision after his prison sentence ends. According to The New York Times, the six-year term is one year longer than the minimum sentence for the charge. In August of last year, Fetty Wap pleaded guilty to one federal count of conspiracy to distribute and possess controlled substances.

Fetty Wap was arrested in October of 2021 at Queens, New York’s Citi Field, where the rapper had been scheduled to perform as part of of Rolling Loud New York. He was indicted and charged with one count of conspiracy to distribute and possess controlled substances. Five other men were also named in the indictment, each charged with one count of using firearms in connection with a drug trafficking crime. A press release from the United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of New York claimed that Fetty Wap and the five other men were alleged to have “distributed more than 100 kilograms of cocaine, heroin, fentanyl, and crack cocaine across Long Island and New Jersey,” and also referred to Fetty Wap as “a kilogram-level redistributor for the trafficking organization.”

Fetty Wap was released on $500,000 bond shortly after his arrest, but he was later arrested again (and had his bond revoked) after he allegedly displayed a gun and threatened to kill someone during a FaceTime call last year.
