One of the beauties of living in the South is that there’s no shortage of places to find “finger-lickin’ good” fried chicken. But with so many options, where do you go for the best of the best?
National Fried Chicken Day was on July 6th so Yelp compiled a list of the best fried chicken restaurants in every state. Thankfully, us living here on the east side of the state don’t have to travel far to get the best fried chicken in Tennessee.
Mama’s Chicken Kitchen, in Gatlinburg, was named the best in the state. On both Yelp and Google they have 4.5 star ratings. A lot of people in their ratings comment about how “tasty” or “delicious” the fried chicken is. Their website claims their chicken is “good enough to cross the street for.” Tripadvisor also gave them the title for “Traveler’s Choice” in 2021.
The menu isn’t very extensive, but when you have the best fried chicken you can keep things simple. Mama’s Chicken Kitchen offers up chicken meals, salads, wings, and all of your favorite sides to go with your chicken. They even have a weekend breakfast menu, which obviously includes chicken & waffles.
