In Knoxville, we’re used to seeing the city full of orange but this weekend its back to black.

University of Tennessee has a home game against South Carolina and for the game they’ll be wearing their popular black jerseys with orange numbers. The school announced it on their X page.

The black uniforms were first debuted on Halloween in 2009 against South Carolina and the Vols wore black jerseys with orange pants and a white helmet. It wasn’t until 12 years later, in 2021, when they donned the all black against SC again. Both games were victories for UT. The introduction of the black helmets came last year against Kentucky.

Fans can get their dark mode swag here.

Currently, Tennessee has 3 wins and 1 loss under their belt. They go up against the South Carolina Gamecocks (2-2) on Saturday at Neyland Stadium with kickoff at 7:30 p.m.
