If you visited any of the following Food City locations in E. Tennessee, you may want to check your credit card statement and make sure there hasn’t been any suspicious activity.
K-VA-T Food Stores, Inc., the corporate title for Food City, revealed that a skimmer was found at the following stores:
- Mechanicsville on Western Ave. in Knoxville
- Kodak
- Gatlinburg
The company says about 146 transactions were affected. They were made between April 9-14 at the one in Knoxville and Gatlinburg, and April 9-17 at the Kodak store.
Customers are advised to check their bank statements and monitor their credit report.
K-VA-T says that the skimmers collected credit card numbers and pin numbers from swiped cards, but no other information such as names.

The suspects were identified and arrested when they attempted to return to the stores to collect their data. They are facing multiple charges. After being taken into custody, authorities discovered that the suspects targeted other businesses in the greater Knoxville area.
